No es un nutriente del que hablamos la mayor\u00eda de nosotros, a menos que est\u00e9 considerando embarazarse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El \u00e1cido f\u00f3lico es un tipo de vitamina B que se encuentra en el cuerpo y es importante para el proceso de producci\u00f3n de nuevas c\u00e9lulas y para la creaci\u00f3n del tubo neural que forma el cerebro y la m\u00e9dula espinal del beb\u00e9. Estos desarrollos ocurren durante el primer mes de embarazo, raz\u00f3n por la cual las madres necesitan tener suficiente \u00e1cido f\u00f3lico antes de quedar embarazadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin suficiente \u00e1cido f\u00f3lico, un beb\u00e9 corre el riesgo de nacer con defectos de nacimiento graves como la espina b\u00edfida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si queda embarazada, se recomienda que tome 400 microgramos (mcg) de \u00e1cido f\u00f3lico (la versi\u00f3n sint\u00e9tica \u00e1cido f\u00f3lico) al d\u00eda para ayudar a prevenir defectos de nacimiento, de acuerdo con las recomendaciones del <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/ncbddd\/Spanish\/folicacid\/about.html\">Centro para el Control y la Prevenci\u00f3n de Enfermedades (CDC)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las mujeres pueden obtener la cantidad recomendada tomando una vitamina con \u00e1cido f\u00f3lico y \/ o comiendo alimentos con alto contenido de mismo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/texaswic.org\/\">El programa WIC de Texas<\/a>, es un recurso educativo y nutricional para mujeres embarazadas, describe que el \u00e1cido f\u00f3lico se puede encontrar de forma natural en alimentos como:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Br\u00f3coli,<\/li><li>Esp\u00e1rragos<\/li><li>Frijoles, frijoles secos y guisantes<\/li><li>Hojas de espinaca y nabo<\/li><li>Naranjas, mandarinas y pomelos<\/li><li>Nueces y pipas de girasol<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Algunos arroz, pasta, pan y cereal para el desayuno tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n enriquecidos con \u00e1cido f\u00f3lico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obteniendo suficiente \u00e1cido f\u00f3lico es solo una de las formas en que una mujer puede ayudar a garantizar un embarazo saludable.
