TEXAS WIC HELPS MOTHERS RAISE HEALTHY BABIES<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Texas WIC is a program that stands for \u2018Women, Infants and Children\u2019. It\u2019s a nutrition assistance program helps at-risk babies, children and pregnant and nursing mothers through easy access to formula, baby food and basic groceries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Texas WIC program helps pregnant and breastfeeding mothers provide a healthy start for their infants and children up to age five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dallas WIC clients can take home free nutritious food such as fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, baby food and even specialty baby formula. The Texas WIC program also offers access to free nutritional classes and visits to WIC Clinics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the WIC Clinic<\/a>, families can be approved and enrolled into the WIC program, get questions answered about your personal situation, learn about nutrition classes and get a WIC Card loaded to shop for FREE nutritional food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until a child\u2019s 5th birthday, a large part of their diet can be supplemented with financial assistance from the WIC program. Pregnant women and mothers who breastfeed can also receive food benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WIC CARD<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To receive WIC, apply on the Texas WIC website<\/a> or by visiting a WIC Clinic. Once approved, WIC clients will receive a WIC ebt card in the mail. This card is loaded with a monthly allowance by a WIC staff member. The card can be used to buy groceries. PWIC stores make getting WIC-approved items easy. If you are already receiving Medicaid, TANF or SNAP you may already meet the income eligibility guidelines for WIC. If you are not on these programs you may still qualify for WIC by meeting the guildes for your household.
